Anaheim Ducks Players in Dobber Fantasy Hockey’s Top Player Rankings

facebooktwitterreddit

On Monday, we discussed Yahoo! Fantasy Hockey’s top 100 player ratings. Today I wanted to compare that to Dobber Hockey’s player ratings and see how Anaheim Ducks players do on those rankings as compared to Yahoo’s. I’ll be using Dobber’s Top 300 player ranking, which comes with the following caveats (as explained on Dobber’s site)

"Please read: These rankings only capture keeper leagues that are points-only, do not factor positions. They also give some value bonus (very small) to teams who have a bright future and a good chance of becoming/maintaining a big powerhouse in terms of lots of fantasy-relevant players.Because there are so many different league types, one cannot satisfy them all with a single list. Factors taken into account: predicted points for the current season; age; upside; proven/unproven; team bonus (if the team is on the rise or consistently scoring a lot); proneness to injury; and the “name” factor (if it’s a big name, he gets a few extra bonus due to the trade value boost)."

So how does this compare to Yahoo! Fantasy Hockey’s  rankings? Corey Perry drops considerably – from 7th spot down to 18th, which is actually under Ryan Getzlaf, who was moved up all the way from Yahoo’s 96th spot. Dobber and Yahoo! are worlds apart on Getlzaf. On the other hand, they’ve seem to have found some common ground on Bobby Ryan, who ended up in the 30th spot for Yahoo and comes in 33 on Dobber.  Teemu Selanne, who just barely made Yahoo’s list at nuimber 99,  falls out of the top 100 entirely on Dobber’s rankings (instead found at the 112th spot).

So, as we asked you on Monday about Yahoo’s list, how do you feel about these rankings? Was the RPG line and the Finnish Flash ranked appropriately? Who do you feel is missing? What would your list look like?

And will we actually get to utilize these rankings, or is this season a lost cause? Let’s hope we see some NHL hockey come October.
