Kyle Palmieri still has one year left on his three-year entry level contract. Palmieri is a young talent just beginning his career in the NHL. In the 2011-2012 season he played a career high 18 games earning 7 points. The 21-year-old right-shooting center/right wing plays with a little grit and has the potential to be a top 6 forward. I believe that in the next few years, Palmieri will really hit his stride and become a very important piece of the team. Last season, Palmieri collected 58 points in 51 games with the former AHL affiliate of the Ducks, The Syracuse Crunch. He came in third in points, having played 24 games less than the first place points leader, and 22 games less than the second place points leader. The USA born player has attended the AHL All-Star Game the previous two years. Last season he was named to the AHL first all-star team, becoming only the second member of the Crunch to accomplish this. Palmieri may not be the biggest guy on the ice, but his talent makes up for it. He has been compared to Chris Drury, who also had a smaller body that he used to his advantage. I strongly believe that Palmieri could be a big part of how the future of the Ducks unfolds. He will be a key part to our team in the future, and having him play could make or break the team. Good Luck with your career, Kyle, you will be a star soon enough!
