NHL “Experts” Expect Ducks to Draft Jacob Trouba

With playoffs over, the Anaheim Ducks‘ focus now belongs to their scouting department. The Ducks will be getting a top 10 pick and this upcoming draft is DEEP. Some of the top guys are Nail Yakupov (RW), Jacob Trouba (D), Ryan Murray (D) and Filip Forsberg (LW).

Obviously, the league standings have time to change, with the Ducks still having 10 points up for grabs. They are currently 24th in the league, which would give them the 7th overall pick. The Ducks are tied at 77 points with the New York Islanders, the Carolina Hurricanes and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

In theory, if they win all 5 games, they could jump up from anywhere to 20th-24th depending on how the other teams do.

Both “experts” have picked the Ducks to get the 8th overall pick and both have guessed the Ducks will pick Jacob Trouba.

Trouba is a monster and probably a smart choice for the Ducks. Since Justin Schultz doesn’t seem likely to sign with the Ducks, they need to grab a top tier defenseman.

At 6’2″ and 194 pounds, Trouba has potential to be a big body who can also put up some solid numbers.

Stick around for when we do a full setup of all the top prospects. Should be up sometime around when the season has ended so we know when the Ducks will be drafting.
