Ducks Head to the Desert to Face Phoenix Coyotes

The Ducks face the Phoenix Coyotes tonight at Jobing.com Arena. This is their 5th time meeting the Coyotes, where the series is currently split 2-2.

October 23, 2011: Coyotes @ Ducks PHX 5-4

November 23, 2011: Ducks @ Coyotes: PHX 4-2

December 14th, 2011: Coyotes @ Ducks: ANA 4-1

January 18th, 2012: Coyotes @ Ducks: ANA 6-2

Team Reports:

The Coyotes suffered 5 straight losses and were finally able to beat the Senators before the All-Star Break. The Ducks on the other hand went 8-1-1 with their lone regulation loss coming to the Dallas Stars. The biggest issue here is how will the teams react after the break. The Coyotes are hoping to build off that momentum they gained after an intense game against Ottawa. The Ducks want to continue their best streak of the entire season

Importance:

Both teams need to win in order to get into the playoffs. Right now, it’s much more important for the Ducks to win, but I’m doubting the Coyotes will care. The Ducks are 12 points out of a playoff spot, the Coyotes are only 3.

It’s also a big game because as I stated before, both teams want to get on the right track at the beginning and not have to worry about it later.
