Now That It’s Over….

Now that the All-Star Game is over and the break is winding down, the Anaheim Ducks are in for a tough rest of the season.

The stretch after the All-Star break is always the toughest and now is the crucial time to start winning and move into playoff contention for the Ducks. Meanwhile, other teams will be trying to hold onto their spot.

The Ducks have 34 games left in the season, and every single game counts. They currently have 43 points, and they need roughly 95 points to make the 8th seed. That would mean they have to win 25 games….not an easy task….

The biggest teams the Ducks need to beat and that we need to watch, are their Pacific Division rivals (yeah, all of them). They’re all either in playoff spot or contention and need points to stay there. They play their rivals a total of 8 times.

They also need to watch out for, Calgary, Colorado and Minnesota who are right in the playoff rush. They play Calgary three times, Colorado twice and Minnesota once.

It IS possible for the Ducks to make playoffs, but it will be an intense rest of the season. I for one would love a complete turnaround not only because they’re my team, but because it would be a hell of a push.
