It didn’t take long for the Ducks to get their first win of the season! They beat the Rangers 2-1 in a shootout in Stockholm Sweden. This looked like a much better, more controlled Anaheim Ducks.
Recap:
Andrew Cogliano opened got the Ducks on board by collecting a beauty of a pass from Andrew Gordon. Brad Richards tied the game up in the third when he fired a wrister passed Hiller and the game went to overtime.

Hiller was perfect in the shootout, stopping all 4 shots he faced. Lundqvist was solid until Bobby Ryan snuck a low shot past him. It looked like Lundqvist thought he was going glove high.
Hiller only faced 15 shots tonight which shows the Ducks blue line was shutting down their defensive zone. The Ducks powerplay still needs some work, going 0 for 6 on the night. They also managed to take 7 penalties tonight, but were able to shut the Rangers down.
