Ducks Ink Etem
The Ducks have signed Emerson Etem for a three year entry level contract. Etem was selected 29th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He has played his last two seasons with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL. He was also selected to represent the USA in the World Junior Championships.
If you’re following Etem on twitter, you may know of his statement that “Buffalo is a ghost town”, which caused him to be booed every time he touched the puck at the World Juniors game. But those who follow Ducks prospects know that he is a a great player and will be valuable for the Ducks in the future.
Etem tallied 45 goals, 35 assists with a +41 rating and 24 penalty minutes in 65 games with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League last season. He also lead the WHL in shorthanded goals, scoring 9 of them. Insanely impressive numbers from a kid so young. I would expect to see him in and out of the Ducks lineup, depending on how he handles the NHL.
All Ducks fans should be very excited to see Etem in action next season.
