Ducks pick 12th in the NHL Entry Draft.

Yippie-dee squid.

We all knew the Oilstains would wind up in the top three, especially considering they need to replace…well…pretty much everybody.  I was a bit surprised to see the Bruins come in at #2, but the Panthers at #3 was definitely fitting.

The lottery was broadcast live in the U.S. on VERSUS.  The best parts were the clips of a live feed from a bar in Edmonton and the fans’ elation when it was announced their team was #1.  It’s mindboggling what Canadians will get excited over.

Getzy finally owned up to the severity of his ‘high ankle sprain’ – he’d actually done a pretty good job of doing some severe soft tissue damage.  I had a similar injury and it took FOREVER to heal.  And that was when I was only 18.  At least he has more than enough time to recover for next season!

Dan Sexton has been reassigned to the AHL’s Manitoba Moose.  Big Sexy had a breakout debut, but apparently couldn’t take the pressure and within months, his performance dropped off dramatically.  Hopefully this will not be the fate of Nick Bonino.

The biggest oops! the Ducks committed this season was signing Tookie.  Fortunately, they unloaded him fairly quickly (he was, after all, taking up too much room on the bench).

That’s all for now.  Gotta set up the DVR for today’s flurry of games and figure out how to watch multiple channels on my TV!
