I feel it is my civic and moral duty to warn all of you NOT to watch the movie “The Fourth Kind”. Without going into too much detail…IT SUCKED!!!!
That being said, there was a game last night that also sucked. (see the parallel I just drew?)
Granted, rookie Matt Beleskey nearly netted a hat trick and Bobby Ryan caught the Blues back on their heels, but after that, the Blues scored four in the third.
This is the first time the Ducks haven’t gone to post since ice was invented, so don’t look for shots on goal or who racked up how many points or even what the final score was here. I’m sat in front of my computer in a totally pouty mood and in complete denial.
The Fan Appreciation game is tomorrow against the Oilers and wouldn’t it be nice if “appreciation” was actually expressed by something more than a cardboard photo that most people will either A) leave beer-soaked under their seat, B) forget in the back of their car, or C) stick in a drawer of other odds and sods that have been piling up for millennia?
Speaking of which…hold on a second…A HAH! I knew I still had it close to hand! Just pulled out my team photo from the end of the 2008-09 Season. There’s Chris Pronger front and center and next to him is Scott Niedermayer looking like a deer caught in the headlights. Oh, and look, Ryan Getzlaf has hair! JS Giguere looks like the happiest guy on the planet and Jonas Hiller appears to be attempting to will himself to sink through the ice. Teemu, Parros and Corey Perry look exactly the same and we don’t talk about Rob N. because he is DEAD TO US.
If we fans are so appreciated, why don’t the Ducks have a Black Out? The opposite of what the Penguins host. Or how about a free hotdog or a soda or a ‘stache?
Okay, I’ll stop. Now I’m just spewing bile.
No really, I had some bad sushi last night and I’m blowing chunks.
Well, at least I have NHL Center Ice so I can watch every single game today.
P.S. One funny sign at the Blues game read “Thanks for the Teeth!” referring to the fact that the departing Keith Tkachuk has lost four teeth and has had something like a half dozen rootcanals during the course of his career.
