Tonight's Lineup Versus Dallas

Coach Randy Carlyle has decided to make Evgeny Artyukhin a healthy scratch after taking three minor penalties in the last game. The move is not too surprising given the Ducks’ struggling penalty kill and the fact that Petteri Nokelainen has been patiently waiting for his chance to get back into the lineup.

Nokelainen will skate on a line with Todd Marchant and Erik Christensen to start the game, with Joffrey Lupul being put back on the second line. The first and fourth lines will remain intact.

Goalie Justin Pogge was called up from the ECHL and will probably back up Jonas Hiller as J.S. Giguere finally admitted he has an injured groin. Giguere had problems with the same injury last year and the team will likely be cautious in dealing with him. The Ducks did not have to send any players down because the team never filled the void left by Andrew Ebbett’s departure.

I expect a big game from the top line as Ryan Getzlaf has been called out by the media for his lack of production, and he usually responds well to that type of talk. Lupul will also might be playing a bit harder, though no one has accused him of not, as he has been promoted back to the second line. If the top two lines fail to click again tonight, there may be bigger changes ahead for the team.

Here is the complete lineup:
