Anaheim, CA - After last night’s debacle against Vancouver, the Anaheim Ducks are looking rebound against the Nashville Predators tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Honda Center. This is the first of three games against the Preds.

Anaheim’s Last Game

Last night’s home opener was basically a disaster. The penalty kill failed stop three of the nine opportunities. Cory Schneider stood on his head all night and earned top star honors. With the Predators coming in, the Ducks look to right the wayward ship. Jonas Hiller is also looking to regain his form, while Corey Perry looks to keep his cool.

Nashville’s Last Game

The Predators are also coming off of a shutout loss. The Preds are having trouble adjusting to life without free agent departure Ryan Suter. They have have given up nine goals in their four games and have only scored eight. Pekka Rinne has shown signs of his brilliance, but at times it hasn’t been enough.

Anaheim, CA - The Ducks end their three-day break with tonight’s home opener against the Vancouver Canucks. This is the second of three games versus last year’s President’s Trophy winner.

The Ducks are coming off of a 5-4 victory over the Calgary Flames Monday night in which they saw a sizable lead be nullified in the middle stages of the game. Daniel Winnik is looking to keep pace in the goals scored department in this young season. He is currently tied for 3rd in the league behind San Jose’s Patrick Marleau (6) and Chicago’s Marion Hossa (5) with 4 goals in his two games.

Goalie Jonas Hiller has been doing very well in the first two games stopping 47 of 54 shots he has faced this season.

The Canucks are coming into the game off of their first win of the year. Cory Schneider seems to be settling into his Number 1 role after being chased by the Ducks in the first game. The biggest issue, other than goaltending, is the lack of consistent scoring from their top lines. Nearly half of the goals scored thus far have been by defenseman.
