After deactivating <a href="http://echl.com/stats/player.php?id=3917" target="_blank">Darcy Kuemper</a>, who had given up seven goals in two games, started third-string goalie <a href="http://www.echl.com/stats/player.php?id=1631" target="_blank">John Curry</a>.</p>
<p>Curry had little resistance only facing 25 shots all night, with most of them coming as the Komets tried frantically to come back.</p>
<p>Orlando (10-11-2) started the scoring 1:40 into the contest off a <a href="http://www.echl.com/stats/player.php?id=3776" target="_blank">C.J. Severyn</a> goal that was assisted by <a href="http://www.echl.com/stats/player.php?id=2287" target="_blank">Michael Wilson</a>. Defensemen <a href="http://www.echl.com/stats/player.php?id=4439" target="_blank">Sean Lorenz</a> scored next at 5:15 in off another assist from Wilson. After the scoring plays, the penalties came out. There were 8 penalties, including a game misconduct for Fort Wayne  Defensemen Brent Henley for being the aggressor in a fight with 6:51 left in the period.</p>
<p>The Komets (11-9-1) finally got on the board 3:08 into the second period on a short-handed goal by <a href="http://www.komets.com/team-roster/brandon-marino" target="_blank">Brendon Marino</a> from <a href="http://www.komets.com/team-roster/stephon-thorne" target="_blank">Stephon Thorne</a>. Orlando regained a two goal lead nearly 6 minutes later and scored again with 1:29 left off of a power play goal by <a href="http://www.echl.com/stats/player.php?id=1925" target="_blank">Ryan Cruthers</a>. There were only 3 penalties in the second period.</p>
<p>The final Komet tally was on a <a href="http://www.komets.com/team-roster/ryan-lasch" target="_blank">Ryan Lasch</a> power play goal assisted <a href="http://www.komets.com/team-roster/thomas-beauregard" target="_blank">Thomas Beauregard</a> 4:26 into the final frame. The Solar Bears scored two more times by the 11:23 mark including a second power play goal.</p>
<p>The Komets went 1 for 7 on power play opportunities, while accumulating 25 total PIM. Orlando went 2 for 5 on the man advantage and racked up 28 PIM.</p>

<p>For the first time since November 10th, the Komets have won 2 in a row. At that time it was a five game winning streak. Saturday night Fort Wayne (11-8-1) cruised to a 3-0 victory against the Solar Bears (9-11-4) at the Amway Center in Orlando.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.komets.com/team-roster/luca-caputi" target="_blank">Luca Caputi</a> scored twice and <a href="http://www.komets.com/team-roster/charlie-effinger-1" target="_blank">Charlie Effinger</a> was a perfect 35 for 35 in save opportunities in his first game since November 24th. Effinger was heavily tested early in the second period when he stopped multiple shots that led to a 2-on-1 breakaway as Caputi scored with an assist from <a href="http://www.komets.com/team-roster/ryan-lasch" target="_blank">Ryan Lasch</a> 5:14 into the period.  <a href="http://www.komets.com/team-roster/j.m.-rizk" target="_blank">Jean-Michel Rizk</a> scored his eighth goal of the year from <a href="http://www.komets.com/team-roster/matt-firman" target="_blank">Matt Firman</a> 9:30 in and Caputi scored his second of the game on a pass from Rizk at 11:47.</p>
<p>Each team went 0 for 5 on the PP and both accumulated 37 PIM.</p>
