An open letter to pending free agent John Tavaras. Our Blake Navarro provides good reasons why JT should consider the Anaheim Ducks for one of his team visits.

Mr. Tarvares,

On behalf of all Anaheim Ducks fans everywhere, I am writing this letter to personally give you all you need to know about this Ducks organization, in hope that you will consider the Ducks for one of the 5 spots that you will speak to during this period.

As you already know, Anaheim is located in beautiful Southern California. A place where you can go to the beach in the morning and play hockey at night. Anaheim is also home to Disneyland. If Disney is not your thing, Knott’s Berry Farm is pretty close in neighboring Buena Park. If food is a passion, may I recommend the Anaheim Packing District? The food there varies to fill any craving that you might have.

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you much about this Ducks team. We have stars like Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, and Ryan Kesler. This team would be even better if it had another star like you. Don’t forget about our rising stars like Rickard Rakell and Hampus Lindholm. Plus many more that are waiting in the wings to make their mark.

More from Pucks of a Feather

Finally, there’s goalie John Gibson. I know you’ve had problems on the Island with inferior goaltending costing you wins. Should you come here, you can put any goalie worries away. Gibson has your back for years to come.

This team has been to the playoffs every season since 2012-13 and in 14 times in 24 seasons. It’s almost as certain as the ice being frozen that the Anaheim Ducks will be in contention for the playoffs. The Ducks were in the Western Conference Final two seasons ago. A player like you can be the missing piece for the Ducks to get over the top.

We need to talk about the fans. The fan base, though smaller than most markets and especially the Islander fan base, is a passionate one. The fans love this team. They love the players and I know for a fact that they will love you.

I can already see all the jerseys in the crowd with 91 in black and orange. Just ask players like Patrick Eaves and Adam Henrique what it’s like to come to this team and be accepted and loved almost instantly by the fans. This fan base loves new players.

Look we know we are a real long shot of signing you. But you would put this team over the top. You would make the roster better, and you would be living in the most beautiful part of the country. We hope you consider us as a possible destination.

All the best,

Blake Navarro on behalf of Anaheim Ducks Fans Everywhere.

Next: Ducks shouldn't kick Corey Perry off the pond.
