After Two Straight Wins, Anaheim Ducks Look For 3 In A Row Tonight

The Anaheim Ducks sleeping giant has awaken. Corey Perry finally broke through and scored his first goal of the season in dramatic fashion Wednesday night against Florida.

The Ducks were down 2-1 as a bouncing puck came rolling to Perry with five seconds left in the game and he found the back of the net for the tying goal. Perry then dropped to his knees and looked up towards the heavens, exhaling a sigh of relief as his goal scoring drought had come to an end.

It was a typical Scorey Perry moment and now he and the rest of the Ducks look to carry momentum into tonight’s clash with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Lady luck is finally starting to befriend the Ducks as captain Ryan Getzlaf and defensemen Josh Manson both took part in morning skate and are back in the lineup tonight.

Getzlaf had missed the past four games after undergoing a non-emergency appendectomy nine days ago.

More from Ducks News

Freddie Andersen was not good Wednesday night against Florida, he was great, it was an out of this world performance and he is back in net tonight as Boudreau continues to rely on one of the leagues hottest goaltenders.

Columbus will be playing the second end of a back to back tonight as they defeated the L.A Kings last night at Staples Center by a score of 3-2. The game was incredibly physical as each team racked up 26 penalty minutes.

Columbus backup goaltender Curtis McElhinney will be in net tonight against the Ducks due to Sergei Bobrovsky playing last night in L.A.

For the Ducks, it has been strong 60 minute efforts that have gotten them back on track recently. Another strong end-to-end performance should get them to three wins a row tonight.

However, reliance on Andersen has also been something the Ducks have done recently and it would be nice for Freddie to get a comfortable lead tonight.

Rickard Rakell (upper-body), Jiri Sekac (ankle) and Simon Despres (upper-body) remain out for the Ducks and Harry Zolniercyzk has been recalled from AHL San Diego while Max Friberg also remains in Anaheim for the time being.

Puck drop is at 7 P.M local time tonight as the Ducks look to continue strong play on home ice to make it three in a row.
