Will the Anaheim Ducks Pull Off a Major Trade on Draft Weekend? Vote!

Hurry up and vote – I mean, now!

The 2015 NHL Entry Draft is almost upon us, and the Anaheim Ducks are in a tough spot.

On the one hand, this is a team that came within a Game 7 loss at home in the Western Conference Finals from playing for the right to lift Lord Stanley’s Cup.

A team that close doesn’t have much cause to be desperate on draft day.  Draft young talent, sign as many free agents as you can, and pick up a key piece over the summer – that’s probably the approach most of the teams who played deep into the postseason are taking.

On the other hand, a flurry of draft-day trades has certainly made the West a whole lot competitive . . . on paper.  Milan Lucic will be a Los Angeles King next season.  More importantly, Dougie Hamilton will be playing for the Calgary Flames, a team that now has the potential of being scary-good.

Could standing pat cause other teams to pass the Anaheim Ducks, leaving them in a cloud of dust?

Obviously, we have no say in the matter – but when has that ever stopped us from opening our mouths?!?  I say the Ducks should be bold this weekend – what do you say?
