Jakob Silfverberg will be looking to start off strong after missing a big chunk of last season due to a broken hand. Silfverberg recently signed a one-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks and will be looking to have a productive 82 game season that will lead to a long-term deal. Silfverberg is coming off a decent season where he put up 10 goals and 13 assists in 52 games.

Jakob Silfverberg plays a solid two-way game with a lot of intensity. His speed is a threat anytime he is on the ice and he has a nose for goal. Silfverberg has a very quick release on his shot, but is still lacking in accuracy which could be the difference between a 20 and 30 goal season. However, the possibility of being placed on a line with Ryan Kesler could provide the spark needed for Jakob Silfverberg to take his game to the next level.

Jakob will be looking to replicate his strong start from last season where he recorded four goals in his first four games. However, consistency and avoiding injuries will be key if he wants to have a shot at reaching the 30 goal mark.

Jakob Silfverberg will only cost the Ducks $850,000 for the year, adding to the relatively cheap secondary scoring options the Ducks already have in Dany Heatley and Patrick Maroon. If he manages to stay injury free and secures a spot on one of the top two lines I have no doubts that he will reach the 40-50 point mark.

The signing of Jakob Silfverberg leaves Devante Smith-Pelly as the only player left to be re-signed, and it is looking increasingly more likely that a deal will be made closer to training camp.
