Cogliano reached the 20-goal plateau for the first time in his career with 21 goals and adding 21 assists. These stats left him just three points shy of reaching his single season career high of 45 points.

Those 21 goals are even more impressive when you realize that none of them were scored on the power play.

Cogliano kept up his claim to the name “Iron-Man” as he played in all 82 regular season games and all 13 playoff games. In is 7-season NHL career, Cogliano has never missed a game.

The 5’10 181 pound winger has dodged the injury bug while still playing a high-octane 100% game. He isn’t flashy as he won’t skate around five guys and put the puck in the net, but he will be go through a brick wall for his teammates. Cogliano will also go in the corner and battle tooth and nail to come up with that puck and he will make the smart hockey play.

He is a fantastic penalty killer and his speed is vital to how he is able to score and succeed. Cogliano had found great chemistry with Saku Koivu on the Ducks third line and was virtually always out there with him at center.

Should Koivu call it a career, it will be interesting to see who Cogliano will have as a center.
