Since the Game 3 loss to Dallas on Monday night, there have been rumblings that Anaheim Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau would sit either Teemu Selanne or Saku Koivu for Game 4.
After talking to reporters this morning, Selanne confirmed that he will indeed sit out Game 4 tonight with Emerson Etem taking his place.
According to Selanne, Boudreau informed him before yesterday’s practice that he would be scratched.
"We lost last game so a lot of times the lineup is going to be different. I’m obviously disappointed right now but this is Bruce’s decision and we’ll go from there. – Selanne"
Selanne is in his 23rd season in the NHL and has made it known that this season would be his last. The Finland native finished with 27 points in the regular season on nine goals and 18 assists. Through three games in the postseason, Selanne has one assist.
Meanwhile, Etem will rejoin the Ducks’ lineup after playing majority of the year in Norfolk. He scored 24 goals while adding 30 assists during his time as an Admiral this season.
