Anaheim Ducks Daily: 2/2/14
By Dani
Good Morning Anaheim Ducks fans. It was a tough loss last night against the Stars, but Ducks fly together. The post was Jonas Hiller’s best friend last night, so there was something good about the game.
The Ducks called Dave Steckel up from the AHL Norfolk Admirals to replace the injured Nick Bonino. Rickerd Rakell is still out injured. Steckel is a very large player who is quiet but sees the ice well. He doesn’t make the flashy plays but he is a solid player and he’s not bad on face-offs either.
The Miami Herald gives a good neutral look at the game after the fact. A loss is still a loss, but it can be turned into a learning experience.
The Ducks’ AHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals played in Syracuse yesterda, defeating the Crunch 3-2 in a shoot out. You can catch up on all the action here.
In case you missed it: John Gibson was involved in a goalie fight a couple weeks ago. Gibson is the Ducks’ prospect in Norfolk who won the gold medal for Team USA in the 2013 World Juniors.
There’s your daily news. Catch the Admirals in action today at Hershey, the AHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals, at 2:00pm ET. You can listen to the game on the mobile app for the WXTG FM radio station. Check your app store. The Ducks are back in action tomorrow night against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Have a great day!
