Ok, so if you haven’t heard from twitter, we are having a little twitter follower competition with our rivals over at Rink Royalty, the Fansided NHL blog dedicated to the Los Angeles Kings. From this past Saturday night at 6 until this upcoming Saturday night at 6, or roughly puck drop at Dodger Stadium, each twitter account will keep track of however many followers they gain. Whoever gets the most followers wins, simple. Whoever loses, must change their account pic on twitter to the other teams’ logo for the week following the outdoor game.

The competition started at 6 o’clock on Saturday night. We made a big push right away to get off to a good start and we got a better response than we ever could’ve hoped for. We received 10 followers in about 10 minutes and then it just took off. We started the competition at 699 followers and as I sit here writing this, we have 790. Do the math, we’ve gotten 91 followers in less than 24 hours. Our competition by the way started the competition with 177 followers and they currently have 194. So right now we lead the competition 91-17. Not a bad start.

I’ll keep you guys informed on twitter and facebook. I’m sure I’ll make at least one update post during the week. So, thanks a lot right now and keep up the good work spreading the word!
