Around The League: 1/18 Morning Links

It was a quiet night yesterday as only two games were played, but today will certainly make up for it, as 13-games will take place on 2014 edition of ‘Hockey Day In Canada’. Here is the full slate of games to be played today.

It has been a struggle for Steve Mason ever since he won the Calder Trophy as the league’s top rookie during his time with the Columbus Blue Jackets. He may have finally found a home in Philadelphia, as according to ESPN, him and the Flyers have come to an agreement on a contract extension.

Speaking of the Blue Jackets, they rolled over the Washington Capitals last night by the score of 5-1. Cam Atkinson led the way with two goals. Here is the game recap from the Union and Blue website, written by Nathan King. recap

As far as the Capitals go, Katie Carrera of The Washington Post ponders whether or not the Capitals should extend Mikail Grabovski.

Not to throw salt in the wound, but here is wrap up of last night’s game from the Chicago Blackhawks’ angle on Blackhawk Up.

Alex Steen is set to make his return to the lineup against the Ducks tonight, as they look to avenge their loss the last time around to the Ducks.
