The Anaheim Ducks have place defenseman Bryan Allen on injured reserve with a ‘lower body injury’, and have recalled Nolan Yonkman from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League as their corresponding move.
Allen, 33, has played in 40-games this season for the Ducks registering seven points, all assist, and a plus-13 rating in those games. He hasn’t registered a point since December 21 against the New York Islanders.
The 6’5 defenseman from Kingston, Ontario puts his massive frame to use as he is second among the team’s defensive group in hits this season with 72, and is fourth among blue liners on the team in blocks.
Yonkman, 32, has played in two games this season with the Ducks scoring his first point in the NHL since the 2010-2011, an assist in a game against the Calgary Flames.
In 31-games for the Admirals in the AHL, Yonkman has scored two goals and five assist for seven points and is a plus-six.
