The U.S. Men’s Olympic Ice Hockey team was announced today after the 2014 Winter Classic, and among the names called, Anaheim Ducks defenseman and Michigan native – Cam Fowler.

Fowler’s smooth skating style and his improved two-way play makes him a perfect fit for Team U.S.A’s head coach Dan Bylsma system, which favors slick, puck moving defenseman.

One of eight defenseman chosen, only Carolina Hurricanes blue liner Justin Faulk is younger, and with names like Ryan Suter, Brooks Orpik and Paul Martin all a part of the roster, there won’t be any pressure on Fowler to over perform.
