And the slump is over!

After going nearly two months without scoring a goal, Teemu Selanne finally put a puck behind a goaltender, scoring goal number 679 of his career.

The last time Selanne scored was October 25 against the Dallas Stars. Selanne had been showing signs of late of finally lighting the lamp but kept coming up short.

It is no coincidence that Selanne scored a goal on the first game that he was reunited with Mathieu Perreault – who had been out of action for almost two weeks. Perreault himself was in a slump of his own, going without a goal for almost as long as Selanne had.

His last goal came October 31 against the Boston Bruins. In the 15-games since his goal, he has only registered four assists until his assist on the Selanne goal.

The Anaheim Ducks currently lead the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 during the second intermission.
