Well that didn’t take long for newly acquired winger Tim Jackman to make his presence known to both his teammates and his opponents. Fifteen seconds into his second shift as a Duck, Jackman and Tampa Bay Lightning tough guy B.J. Crombeen found each other in the neutral zone and ended up in a scrap.

Jackman landed some decisive body blows before they got tangled up and separated by the refs.

There was no confusion the reason why the Ducks brought Jackman in, and you can argue very much that he sparked the surge the Ducks had in the second half of the first period.

Luca Sbisa fought as well in the first, as he went after Lightning big guy Radko Gudas – who laid out Teemu Selanne in their last meeting – and threw another big hit tonight. Sbisa landed some solid rights square to the chin of Gudas.

See the ripple effects one player could have?

Jackman skated a total of three shifts in the first, amounting 1:53 of ice time in those three shifts. He also had a shot on goal and a hit.Not a bad debut for the 32 year old huh?
