The Anaheim Ducks will get a welcome face back tonight, as they will get back defenseman Luca Sbisa to the lineup. Head coach Bruce Boudreau announced his defender will play tonight after Sbisa participated in the morning skate. Sbisa was injured against the Phoenix Coyotes in the team’s preseason opener, and hasn’t played since.

"I think I’m going to feel pretty good. Those two games down there (In the AHL)  helped me get back into playing shape."

The current road trip has been good in terms of wins and losses, but the team has seen a string of injuries that has tested the depth of the organization. The likes of Saku Koivu, Mahtieu Perreault, Teemu Selanne and now Sami Vatanen are big parts of the teams success and have all missed time during the road trip.

Vatanen was hurt in the Ducks’ last game against the Buffalo Sabres. Boudreau said Vatanen was healthy enough to play but will be held out tonight so than Sbisa can play.

Sbisa, 23, has played in 189-games with the Ducks, scoring 43 points (8 G, 35 A) and has averaged 17:56 in his games.

The Ducks play the New York Rangers tonight at the newly renovated Madison Square Garden at 7:30 pm Eastern Time on NBC SportsNet.
