Oh boy, even though the Anaheim Ducks won last night, their first on this long road trip, they suffered a blow that could really hurt them in the foreseeable future. In his return to Ottawa, Jakob Silfverberg suffered a broken hand and will be out 4-6 weeks. The injury apparently occurred in the third period last night, when he was slashed without a call. This could be a big blow because he has played very well here in the early going and has been a consistent threat offensively. He has 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points in 11 games so far, which is 4th on the team. He is also second on the team in shots (35) behind, guess who, Corey Perry. He has been a huge part of the success of the young guns for the Ducks and they will have to make due without him for about a month.

Also, center Mathieu Perreault also suffered an injury last night, spraining his wrist. However, he is only listed day-to-day. So he may miss a game or two. Also, Dustin Penner has had a few symptom free days and will join the team in Columbus. However, its a concussion, so who knows when he’ll be back to normal Pancakes.
