Anaheim, CA – TSN in Canada first reported that the Anaheim Ducks signed veteran forward Radek Dvorak to a one-year free agent contract reportedly worth $675,000. Last season, Dvorak played with the Dallas Stars and registered 4 G 17 A for 21 P in 73 games. After being released by the Stars, Dvorak did not sign with an NHL team. Instead, he went over to play in Switzerland where he signed with Davos. In 7 games with Davos, he has registered 3 G 4 A for 7 P.

Dvorak is currently 36 years old. He is listed at 6’2″-195. He still has extremely good speed. He is used primarily on the penalty kill, since he has developed very good PK skills. He has been known to be able to score some shorties. He never developed as well offensively as many thought due to some prolonged scoring droughts. At this point in his career, he may not have much to add to a team besides his PK ability. He will have to clear waivers in order for him to join the Ducks, but that most likely will not be a problem.
