Viktor Fasth and the Anaheim Ducks have agreed to a two-contract extension. There’s no need to go into detail about why this extension was offered.  He’s been arguably the best goalie in the league so far this season. He’s played 8 games and won them all with a 1.78 GAA and a .933 SV%. This contract extension will run through the 2014-2015 NHL season. Here’s GM Bob Murray on Fasth:

"“Viktor has proven himself not only this year in the NHL, but the previous two seasons as the top goaltender in Sweden. We are pleased to be able to keep him and feel fortunate to have two top NHL goaltenders going forward.”"

Now, does he really mean they’re going to keep Jonas Hiller and Fasth? That’s what he’s saying, but is there a chance that Hiller gets traded? Honestly, I don’t know if that is the best thing for the goaltending situation. Do you want Jeff Deslauriers as the back up? I don’t know. We’ll find out what happens when we get close to the trade deadline and over the offseason if Hiller is brought up in trade rumors.
