Photo Credit: Norfolk AdmiralsThe Admirals hard-nosed defense paved the way to a 1-0 win Friday night in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton against the Penguins. First year goalie Igor Bobkov collected his tenth win of the season stonewalling 32 Penguins shots.

Norfolk only mustard 12 shots against Penguins goalie Jeff Zatkoff the entire tilt. Newly acquired forward Brayden Irwin scored the games only goal early in the third period. Irwin found a Sami Vatanen rebound and shoveled a shot that eluded Zatkoff.

Both teams hatched goose eggs on the power play. Norfolk failed to convert on all 3 P.P. chances while Wilkes-Barre/Scranton failed on all 8 attempts. Penguins goalie Zatkoff was credited with the loss. His record now reads 16-14-0.

The Admirals look forward to build on this success tomorrow night as the Connecticut Whale host the Admirals tomorrow evening at 7:00 pm.
