Nick Bonino’s Hat Trick Gives Ducks Round One In Freeway Faceoff

Anaheim, CA – Nick Bonino caught fire on the ice notching his first three goals of the year. The game went back and forth until the third when the Ducks pulled away after Bonino completed his hat trick.
First Period:

Bonino kicked off the scoring by netting a 12 foot backhander after Emerson Etem snagged a Jonathan Quick giveaway 2:30 into the game. The Hartford, CT native then notched a wrap-around for his second goal from Etem and Bryan Allen just over three minutes later and chased Quick from the game. The Kings responded with Dustin Brown‘s power play goal at the 9:15 mark. Los Angeles then gained the puck back and Jarret Stoll netted a slapshot for the equalizer 34 seconds later. Ryan Getzlaf won a faceoff that went to Corey Perry who passed it back to Getzlaf to put the Ducks ahead 3-2 at the 13:30 mark in the opening frame.
Second Period:
Brown got one goal closer to a hat trick of his own with a power play goal 1:15 into the middle frame. Sheldon Souray notched his second goal of the year on the man advantage at the 9:35 mark. Kings winger Justin Williams tied the game for the final time at the 14:12 mark. The Ducks took the lead for good two minutes later when Kyle Palmieri scored his fourth of the year.
Third Period:
Bonino completed his hat trick on a tip-in on a power play 8:39 into the final frame. Teemu Selanne ended the scoring about 10 minutes later to give seal the game.
