The Admirals look to right ship tomorrow night against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Admirals goalie Igor Bobkov skated away and saw his record drop to 8-11-0.

Phantom Matt Mangene jump-started the offense deflecting an Erik Gustafsson shot on the power play midway through the opening frame.  Norfolk answered the Phantoms P.P. goal towards the end of the second period with a P.P. goal of their own. Peter Holland lit the lamp on an odd man rush as he got the better of Phantom Brian Boucher as he buried his 13th goal of the season.

Things remained even steven for about three minutes until the ice shifted in the Phantom’s favor as left-wing Rob Bordson blasted a shot from the right faceoff circle to secure a one-goal lead.  Norfolk’s Dan Sexton answered for the away team with a point blank shot down low that eluded the home team’s goalie which tied the game at two apiece.

The third period was regulated by Adirondack scoring three goals. Jason Akeson scored on the power play while Rob Bordson struck pay dirt and scored his second goal of the contest. Shane Harper gave the Admirals a parting gift scoring on an empty net with minutes remaining in regulation.

Norfolk had Adirondack on their heels in the shot department outshooting their foes 29 to 26. A different story unfolded on the power play. Norfolk managed to strike just once on seven power play opportunities while Adirondack were successful on 2 out of 4 P.P. attempts.

The road weary Admirals look to rebound Saturday night against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The puck drops at 7:00 pm and remember fans you can watch your baby Ducks at AHLLIVE.com
