Wheeling, WV – Fort Wayne (12-10-2) had another golden opportunity to get two points on the road, but choked it away in the third period. This time it was a 2-1 lead going into the third, but Andrew Hotham tied it up at the 13:34 mark on a power play due to Brandon Marino’s slash.

In overtime, the Komets were unsuccessful in an attempt to clear the puck in the first minute of the extra frame leading to the Nailers’ (7-10-5) Luke Pither’s game winning goal.

Luca Caputi scored the Komets first goal at the 10:32 mark in the first period. Ryan Lasch scored in the second period (16:31) to give the K’s the lead. Lasch was again a star of the evening for the second straight game.
