Norfolk opened up scoring via Kyle Palmieri who snuck a Sami Vatanen rebound shot past Senators goalie Robin Lehner which gave the Admirals a one goal lead over the home team.  The goal was scored at the 7:32 mark of the 1st period. Palmieri’s tally was his 9th of the season.

Derek Grant answered the Palmieri goal at the 14:30 mark of the 1st as he picked the pocket of a Norfolk player and skated into his attacking zone and zipped the puck past Admirals’ netminder Frederik Andersen.  The visiting Admirals outshot the home team 13-11 during the 1st.

Admirals defenseman Jordan Hendry broke the stalemate as he rifled a slapshot past Lehner that gave his club a one goal lead 6:35 into the middle frame.  With just minutes remaining in the 2nd period, Brandon McMillan notched his 3rd goal of the campaign as he one-timed it past Lehner to put the Admirals up by two goals. This go-round Binghamton had the upper hand in shots outshooting their opponents 16-11.

Both teams failed to score during the 3rd and final period so the final score read 3-1 in favor of Norfolk.  The B-Sens ended the night with 40 shots to Norfolk’s 35. The Admirals were 0 for 5 on the P.P. while the Senators were 0 for 3.

The Admirals now return home to the friendly confines of Scope arena to battle against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Friday at 7:30 and Saturday at 7:15.
