The rumor mill is abuzz with credible sources stating that in today’s NHLPA/NHL meetings, in which a counter-proposal to the leagues offer to the Players’ Association was expected, that the players have actually offered a total of three counter-proposals, giving the league and owners multiple options to choose from.

The meeting is still in progress, and while details appear to be leaking, it’s hard to say what is an isn’t credible at this point. It’s being stated that all four proposals include a 50/50 split in hockey related revenue.

Who knows how attractive any of these four proposals are to the league, but it’s definitely a good sign and a step in the right direction, just as the league recent proposal was a step in the right direction. The players are showing signs that they are eager to get a fair deal done.

Hopefully it comes soon.
