Ducks Make Some More Minor League Lockout Shuffles

A quick note about some minor league moves made by the Ducks recently.

As pointed out earlier today by OC Register’s Eric Stephens, the Ducks have shuffled around two of their prospects, goaltender Marco Cousineau and forward Josh Brittain, sending them to their ECHL affiliate, the Fort Wayne Komets. The Komets play their season opener at home tonight, taking on the Kalamazoo Wings (affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks).

Stephens also pointed out that the Ducks and their AHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals, released Winnipeg Jets property Kenndal McArdle from his camp tryout. The Ads are also playing their season opener at home tonight, taking on the visiting Worcester Sharks (affiliate of the, you guessed it, San Jose Sharks).

With the start of the AHL and ECHL season kicking off, now is a great time to start keeping an eye on minor league hockey in North America. Our very own Ted Warren does an excellent job covering the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals, and we’ll also try to keep you up to date on any major developments that happen with the ECHL’s Fort Wayne Komets as well.

Stay tuned!
