Check Out Bobby Ryan Playing Inline Hockey, Complete with Hideous Jersey and Pants

Yesterday (October 7th), Justin Crain (username “biewcake“) from Reddit Hockey shared some pictures of Bobby Ryan for fellow users of the site. Reddit Hockey is a great place that we’ve talked about before on this blog. I’m sharing Crain’s photos here with you as well, but please keep in mind that all credit goes to him and we do not claim any ownership of his work. When you’re done checking out his pics of Bobby Ryan, you can see more of his photography on his Facebook page.

According to Crain, these photos are from the Las Vegas Roller Hockey Center during the AAU Roller National Championship (also known as the Labeda Cup).

His helmet may look familiar to Ducks fans, but that roller hockey sweater and pants kit is absolutely hideous. Fans of inline hockey are likely accustomed to such an affront, as this type of get-up is par for the course over there.

You can see the original thread and comments on the images here.

This certainly isn’t Bobby Ryan’s first inline roller hockey appearance, he has quite the roller history. Such as  previously participating in the North American Roller Hockey Championships (NARCh).

While it’s always interesting to see how the players choose to pass the time during these lockouts (be it playing roller hockey or finding ice leagues over seas), obviously we’d all prefer to see this pointless dispute settled so we can see the players back on NHL ice. In the meantime, though, I suppose inline roller hockey will have to do.
