Norfolk Admirals Ink Rosehill And Play A Team Scrimmage

The Norfolk Admirals organization announced earlier today that they have signed 27-year-old Jay Rosehill to a Professional Tryout Contract. This Tryout Contract is valid for 25 games. The Olds, Alberta native is no stranger to Norfolk. Rosehill played 123 games in an Admirals’ jersey. During his stay in Norfolk, Rosehill made a name for himself. Jay recorded 415 penalty minutes and many of those minutes flourished from fighting majors. Noted for his play on the ice, Rosehill quickly became a fan favorite at Scope.
Although Rosehill is known around the AHL as an enforcer, he can also show offensive flair. While taking into consideration that tough guys get limited ice time and are only out in certain situations, Rosehill still managed to recorded 19 points when previously with the Admirals. Prior to rejoining the Admirals, Rosehill spent time in the Toronto organization with the Marlies; as well as; their parent club, the Maple Leafs.
The 215-pound Defenseman/Forward has played in 72 NHL games all with the Maple Leafs recording 2 goals and 3 assists while earning 198 penalty minutes. Rosehill will play the role of enforcer this season for the the Admirals. This is good for younger players because they will not have that big of a target on their back because opposing teams will know that Jay Rosehill will jump at the chance to come to the rescue if they even look at a young prospect wrong such as Emerson Etem or Hampus Lindholm.
Today the Norfolk Admirals took to Scope ice to play in a team scrimmage. Team white blew team blue out of the water 4 to 1. Team white had goals from Nick Schaus, Peter Holland, Ryan Lasch and Devante Smith-Pelly. Team blue’s lone goal came from Josh Brittain.
