Anaheim Ducks Start Prepping Ticket Plan Holders for Cancelled Games

As an Anaheim Ducks ticket plan holder, I received this letter in the mail today from the club. In case you haven’t received your copy yet (or if you aren’t a plan holder), I thought I’d pass along the letter to you here. Keep in mind this is relevant to my particular plan (as a “partial” season-ticket holder), communications from the team sent to you may vary based on your specific plan. You can click the thumbnail to the right for an image of the letter I received, or you can read the transcribed text below:

"Dear Partial Plan Holder:We appreciate your patience as the NHL and the NHL Players Association negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement. As you are likely aware, the current Agreement expired on September 15, 2012. It is the League’s objective to successfully conclude negotiations for a new Agreement in the near future. In the event a new agreement is not reached shortly, however, causing games to be cancelled, we have established the following policies with respect to partial season seat payments:• Automatic payment plans have ceased. When the start of the season is announced, payment plans will resume for any balance due.• In the event of the season being reinstated with less than a full home game season schedule, we will recreate your Partial Plan schedule, with a goal of keeping similar opponents and timing in your package. We will send you this schedule in advance, giving you the opportunity to substitute another plan if you have scheduling conflicts.• Accounts will receive 5% annual interest on the amount already paid to be used towards future games or subsequent payments. This interest will remain on your account and will be applied towards your next invoice. Interest will begin to accrue from the announcement of the first cancelled game to the announcement of the commencement of the season. Please note there may be the need to make up payments should the packages be reinstated with games that have not been paid with the existing payment plan.We are committed to providing you enhanced benefits and value for your loyalty. It is the hope of all involved that an agreement on the terms of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement will be reached soon.Thank you for your continued support.Sincerely,Tim RyanExecutive Vice President/Chief Operating OfficerAnaheim Ducks"

A depressing letter to receive, and a reminder of what lies ahead. Hopefully we get to see some hockey this season.
