Lubomir Visnovsky’s Grievance Hearing Scheduled For Sept. 4th
By Sean
Back in late July, after the Anaheim Ducks traded Lubomir Visnovsky to the New York Islanders, Lubo followed by posting a grievance with the trade saying that the trade violated the no-trade clause in his contract. Then, just a few day’s ago, Lubo made news when he crashed during an auto race in his native Slovakia.
Now, Lubo has a date set for his grievance over his trade to the Islanders. He will meet with an arbitration board on September 4th. The 36-year-old is in the final year of a five-year contract that would see him earn $3 million. No matter the result, Lubo will end up in an awkward position. He has made it clear he doesn’t want to play with the Islanders and the Ducks wanted to get rid of him.
Also, I have been thinking that if the lockout does happen, which it certainly does look like it, that maybe it would be cool to re-enact the Ducks Stanley Cup championship season since it’s the fifth year anniversary. For example, write recaps of some of the bigger games of that season on the day that they happened. Also write posts for any big news that had happened during the year. Maybe, maybe not. We’ll see.
