Three Anaheim Ducks Prospects Survive First Cut of Team USA

On August 7th, USA Hockey announced the first round of cuts at their World Junior Championship evaluation camp. Three Anaheim Ducks prospects survived that first round, and are hoping to make it all the way through to the US National team for the IIHF’s World Junior Championship this coming December through January.

John Gibson, the Ducks’s 2nd-round (39th overall) 2011 pick, along with Nicolas Kerdiles, the Ducks’ 2nd-round (36th overall) 2012 pick, and Andy Welinski, the Ducks’ 3rd-round (83rd overall) 2011 pick are among those who still have a great shot at making the team. Let’s hope they’re representing Team USA come the 2013 World Junior Championship in Russia this December.
