Finnish Report: One More Year!

According to Finnish magazine, Veikkaaja Magazine, Teemu Selanne has decided to return to the Anaheim Ducks for one more season. Now, before we all jump to conclusions, this is just one report from a Finnish magazine. We don’t know that magazine, so we don’t know how legitimate it is. However, it doesn’t not seem possible. We all know Teemu has at least one more year left in his tank.

Matias Strozyk, a Finnish sportswriter who works with some very legitimate hockey websites, declared on his twitter that this story is true. This comes from a couple of tweets by Strozyk:

"“Selanne answers to Ducks by July. They’ll let him choose a desired post-retirement job in the organization. Mentions Robitaille’s Kings job. No, doesn’t mean Selanne retires now. He just said that he has the opportunity once done. Wants to do sales/consulting/representation with Ducks.”"

It doesn’t exactly say he’s returning, but it does kind of lead us to believe that he is returning. GM Bob Murray has said about Teemu that he looks good and that he’s waiting to see what the Ducks will do in the next few weeks before making an official announcement in July.

Let’s not jump the gun here. This is the first of probably many reports on Teemu’s situation. I’m willing to post any kind of report and will try not to make any real claims from someone’s report.
