The 2012 IIHF World Championships start May 4th and six Anaheim Ducks will be fortunate enough to represent their country. Worlds this year are being hosted by Helsinki, Finland and Stockholm, Sweden and will end May 2oth. Bobby Ryan, Cam Fowler and Kyle Palmieri will all suit up for Team USA this year. Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf will play for Team Canada. Finally, Luca Sbisa will play for Switzerland.

Team USA will kick off its tournament against Team France starting tomorrow at 2:15 AM PST. Team Canada will play their first game tomorrow against Team Slovakia 6:15 AM PST. Finally, Team Switzerland will open their tournament against Team Kazakhstan on May 5th at 5:00 AM PST. A little note, all of Team USA’s games will be televised on NBC Sports Network.

I will try to make updates on how this tournament is fairing as long as any Ducks player is on an advancing nation, which there is a pretty good chance. However, this tournament is not nearly as important to Team Canada and Team USA as it is to the European Teams. One last little side note, I am sorry about the supreme lack of posts from me recently. I was in the last couple weeks of my spring semester so I had a lot of work and finals to study for, however, I am home for summer vacation now, so I will definitely be able to make posts much more often!!!
