Ducks Recall Clark

Ducks recalled rookie defenseman Mat Clark from Syracuse this weekend. I heard sometime on Saturday about him being called up but did not see an official report until very early Sunday morning. This 21-year-old has yet to play in an NHL game in his career but that looks like that could happen tonight or sometime during this last week of the season. He made his professional debut last season with Syracuse after being drafted by the Ducks in the second round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He played two seasons with Brampton of the OHL where he won Brampton’s defenseman of the year award in 2009-2010. He was also voted the Best Defensive Defenseman and Best Body Checker in the OHL’s Eastern Conference. The 6’3″ 216 lb defenseman had 1 goal and 11 assists with 66 PIM in 56 games with Syracuse this season.
