Hiller Earns NHL’s First Star of the Week

Due to his stellar play of late, Anaheim Ducks’ goalie Jonas Hiller has been named NHL’s First Star of the Week, for the week ending February 19th. He went 3-0-1 with a 0.98 goals allowed average and a .961 save percentage. Hiller helped the Ducks take 7 out of a possible 8 last week in their push for a playoff spot. I think many of you will agree that this is the Jonas Hiller that we saw before he got hurt last year and what we expected for this season. Better late than never, right?

Here’s Jonas talking with the NHL Live crew today about being named the NHL’s First Star of the Week.

The second star went to the Winnipeg Jets’ winger Blake Wheeler and the third star went to the Ottawa Senators’ center Jason Spezza.
