Ducks Outshined By Dallas Stars

The Ducks face their division rival Dallas Stars tonight at American Airlines Center. A huge game for the Ducks, who need to turn their season around NOW if they want to make playoffs.

Game Recap

First Period-

  • Hiller back in net, Bachman in net for the Stars
  • Stars have been great all season, tough game coming up
  • (9:06) Brenden Morrow wrists one past Hiller (ANA-0, DAL-3)
  • Stars dominating the game, complete one-sided

Second Period-

  • (1:19) Alex Goligoski sends a blast after getting a pass from Souray (ANA-0, DAL-2)
  • (1:43) Not even 30 seconds later, Ribiero send a bullet past Hiller (ANA-0, DAL-3)
  • This isn’t looking good at all….
  • (4:30) Teemu Selanne comes  in clutch scoring on the PP (ANA-1, DAL-3), He is now tied with Mike Modano 22nd all time in career points.
  • Selanne is the only one on this team that looks decent.
  • (14:49) Lubomir Visnovsky sends a slap shot through traffic which deflects off Vernon Fiddler and past Bachman (ANA-2, DAL-3).
  • Corey Perry decides who should try and fight when we are FINALLY getting back in the game. Some MVP.
  • (18:27) Nick Bonino tips in a Cam Fowler slapshot (ANA-3, DAL-3).
  • Huge scrum in front of the Ducks net, saved by the bell!

Third Period-

  • Huge period coming up.
  • Some quality back and forth hockey
  • (6:42) Fowler makes a bade mistake and Michael Ryder capitalizes (ANA-3, DAL-4).
  • Stars controlling the puck most this period
  • Huge scramble in front of Hiller with 3 Ducks down. Puck stays out
  • (14:19) Ducks have a terrible turnover in their own zone and Eric Nystrom gives the go ahead goal (ANA-3, DAL-5)
  • Perry again getting all pissy, maybe he should actually score a goal…

Stats:

  1. Teemu Selanne is tied with Mike Modano 22nd overall in career points
  2. Ducks went 2/3 on the PP, 2/4 on the PK
  3. Ducks were outshot 33-28 tonight
  4. 4 goals is the most Richard Bachman has allowed so far this season

Much of the same tonight, the Ducks defense was nowhere to be seen. Corey Perry was a complete joke of a player tonight. Fighting and being a whiny little baby when his team is down by 2 goals, then causing them to go shorthanded. Are you kidding me??!
