Fantasy Update:Teemu Selanne Stays On Top

I remember being in a fantasy draft chatting with some of the other people in the draft room. All the top players had been drafted and it came to the hard part. Of course, I drafted Selanne knowing what he could produce and being a die hard fan. Instantly, someone said: “Selanne is old and washed out, wasted pick”.

In that league, Selanne is one of the top overall point producers. He is in the top 5 on my roster (in which my team has been in 1st place for 4 weeks).

People still doubted his abilities at the age of 40, but he has shown that he still has the talent even with a slacking team.

Selanne currently has 8 goals, 14 assists and 38 penalty minutes. He also has 11 points on the powerplay, 70 shots on goal and averages 4:10 ice time on the PP per game. Selanne also has a -4 rating, which isn’t terrible considering how the rest of the team is doing….

In the Yahoo! NHL Fantasy Rankings, Selanne is ranked #2 for right wingers. That is for players who are ONLY listed as playing RW. He ranked 12th among the Right Wingers and 25th overall in fantasy players.

Fantasy has nothing to do with results in real hockey, but that is still extremely impressive work by the Finnish Flash.
