Ducks Players and Fans Reactions to Boudreau

facebooktwitterreddit

The fact that Carlyle was canned probably wasn’t a huge surprise to anyone. The fact that it happened only a couple hours after a 4-1 win over Montreal was what seemed to be most surprising.

I saw tons of reactions via Twitter and Facebook about the announcement. The majority (on my timeline) were completely surprised or were stoked about it.  I for one was a bit of both. Its still odd to me that they didn’t just wait until the next day, but it made for an exciting night.

The players reactions were mostly the same: shock.

Here’s what some of the players were thinking:

Ryan Getzlaf-

"“It was shock,” Getzlaf said. “We thought kind of the time had passed. We were going to stick with our group and go.”"

Corey Perry-

"“All of us in that room were kind of shocked, and we didn’t really know what to say. There wasn’t too many words said.”"

Jonas Hiller

"“It was definitely surprising at that point, we had just won a game. Everybody was feeling good.”"

All their reactions were the exact same thing. The next day they had practice under Boudreau’s command so they really didn’t have a lot of time to dwell on what had happened.

Here’s the best part; reactions from the fans on Twitter!

Starting with a classic from Puck Daddy:

@wyshynski: I’ve gone longer not having a bowel movement than Bruce Boudreau went without a head coaching gig.

@ddb_sean: WOOOOOOOOOOOW did not see this coming, RC is gone, which i think he should’ve been, but not so swiftly replaced by Boudreau

@BuckyHermit: Oh wow. Looks like we got our wish. #NHLducks #FireRandy

@rollingdux: Randy Carlyle Fired! I’m in shock right now!
