Ducks Win On Corey Perry Night
By Editorial Staff
The Ducks had a successful 4-2 win against the St. Louis Blues last night. The Ducks improved to 3-1-0, which is the best opening record they have had since 2006-2007 season (which is when they won the Stanley Cup).
The biggest thing I noticed was that the RPG line finally stepped it up. They combined for 6 points total, including 2 goals from Bobby Ryan. Corey Perry scored his first goal of the season, fittingly on Corey Perry Night.
The Ducks blue-line also looked great, gathering 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists). A lot of production from the Ducks defense is going to be a key to their success.
Stats:
- The Ducks went 5/5 on the PK and 1/4 on the PP
- This was Bobby Ryan’s 20th multi-goal game
- Lubomir Visnovsky led defensemen in ice time with 24:41
- Corey Perry led all forwards in ice time with 22:18
- Bobby Ryan led the team in shots with 5
Goal Recap:
First period: Bobby Ryan scored the first goal of the game with assists from Sbisa and Beauchemin. (1-0 Ducks)
Second Period: Blues’ Patrik Berglund ties the game up. (Game tied at 1)
Third Period: Francois Beauchemin score his first goal of the season (2-1 Ducks). Corey Perry scores his first of the season while the Ducks were on a power-play (3-1 Ducks). Bobby Ryan scores his second goal of the game, as well as his second of the season. (4-1 Ducks). The Blues get one on board when Alexander Steen scores (4-2 Ducks)
The Ducks face the San Jose Sharks tonight and look to win 4 straight
