Ducks Acquire Cumiskey

The Ducks added some blue line depth by trading for defenseman Kyle Cumiskey of the Colorado Avalanche for defenseman Jake Newton and a seventh-round draft pick in the 2013 NHL Draft. Cumiskey, 24, has split time between the NHL and the AHL. Two seasons ago he led all Colorado defenseman in goals with 7, he also tallied 13 assists for a total of 20 points in a career high 61 games. Jake Newton, 23, is a San Jacinto, CA native who played in 48 games for the Syracuse Crunch (AHL), earning 2 goals and 7 assists for 9 points.
